Angela Presutti is the Young Professionals Network Director of the Greater Akron Chamber. She has lived in the Akron area the majority of her life, earning her undergraduate degree from the University of Akron in communications and her MBA at Walsh University. She has worked in marketing and communications in the healthcare and nonprofit industries for her whole professional life, but when this position at the Chamber became available she was interested in getting more involved with the business community and focusing on economic development. "I describe it as a regional marketing effort of the community," she says.
Her work involves getting young professionals more educated and engaged in the community and also build programs that focus on professional development, provide access to educational resources, and other things that help to develop the area's young professional community.

Angela says there is quite a bit to do in downtown Akron now, whether you're looking for nightlife, entertainment, or outdoor recreation. "Downtown Akron has come leaps and bounds in the last several years. There's so much to do for any walk of life, whether for families, college students or young professionals."

Dining and Drinking
She recommends a new bar called Baxter's Bar, which is targeted specifically towards young professionals and is a "chill place" with happy hour specials and live bands. She also recommends 3 Point and Crave. "Both are awesome and have really nice bars and great food."

The Lockview serves comfort food all grown up, including 13 different kinds of grilled cheese sandwiches, tater tots, and a great craft beer selection. Bricco is a big hot spot with both the business and college communities and is always very busy for lunch. They serve excellent food in a fun, casual atmosphere and are currently one of the trendier places downtown.

Arts, Culture & Entertainment
For cultural attractions there is the Akron Art Museum, located right downtown, a beautiful world-class museum. Sports fans will be excited about the Akron Aeros stadium, the minor league affiliate of the Cleveland Indians.

The Great Outdoors
Outdoor enthusiasts will love the easy access to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, which has trails that run for miles and even loop through downtown Akron. "It is one of the greatest amenities of Akron to have that right in our backyard." The Lock 3 park is a hub for outdoor activities, hosting live music and various festivals in the summer and ice skating in the winter.

The University of Akron is also located downtown and has a growing nightlife scene with plenty of restaurants, bars and clubs that appeal to college students and young professionals. There are several residential condo and loft developments currently underway near the University which will provide more housing for students and young professionals downtown.
