Eric DeVries grew up in Indiana and attended the
University of Evansville in southern Indiana where he studied marketing and finance. His wife was from Perrysburg, which is what brought him to the area. He now works as a Sales Advisory Consultant for Wells Fargo.
Dining & Drinking
When in Perrysburg, one of the places you have to check out is
PerrysBurgers. Eric swears by them. "It's one of our favorite restaurants. They have the best cheeseburgers
ever and state fair fries you can eat forever," he says. For lunchtime,
JB's Sarnie Shoppe in the
Levis Commons is a great sub and sandwich shop. Also in the Levis Commons is
Fat Fish Blue and the popular national bar chain
Bar Louie. And, since mornings are inevitable,
Flying Joe is the place to go for your local hometown coffee shop fix.
If you're in the mood for Mexican,
El Vaquero serves Tex Mex cuisine and great margaritas. Check out
5th Street Pub for locally-sourced gastropub fare. For nightlife,
Swigs is a cool bar with live entertainment and activities and
Funny Bone is a live comedy club.
Fitness & Outdoor Recreation
The
Fort Meigs YMCA has plenty of fitness equipment, an indoor pool, aerobics studio, indoor running track, and sauna, and they also offer a variety of sports leagues, classes, even arts programs. For outdoors enthusiasts,
Fort Meigs Park has a hiking and biking trail on the western side of the island.
Arts & Culture
Every month during summer,
First Fridays in downtown Perrysburg has a variety of vendors, children's activities, live music, and all of the businesses open late. The Perrysburg
Way Public Library is another cultural amenity, a modern facility that has stood since 1892 and was enlarged in 2001, the design for which the 2001
AIA Toledo Architectural Award was presented to
Munger Munger + Associates Architects, Inc.
